PART ONE · WEEKS 1–4
Making room for
what is here.
An invitation to notice change—not an instruction to let go of someone you love.
01Entering the Spiral
Introduce the journey without a timetable for feeling better. Begin with awareness: what is here, and what would help me feel supported?
Arriving as You Are — notice the room, the support beneath you and one comfortable point of contact.
A welcoming circle with shared agreements. Offer a name, a word or simply your presence; sharing is optional.
What would kindness toward myself look like this week?
02The Body Remembers
Invite gentle curiosity about breath, posture and sensation. Notice without interpreting every sensation or trying to make an emotion disappear.
Listening to the Body of Grief — an optional body scan, with eyes-open and outward-looking alternatives.
Explore personal signs that it is time to pause, move, rest or ask for company.
What is one small way I can respond to my body today?
03What Autumn Knows
Explore allowing and acceptance without confusing them with approval. Loosen expectations about how grief should look, rather than insisting on letting go of love.
The Autumn Leaves Practice — name one expectation you might hold a little more lightly.
A conversation about “should,” guilt and permission. No requirement to forgive, resolve or release anything.
What am I carrying that does not need to be carried today?
04Making a Place for Grief
Explore personal rituals and gentle boundaries. Begin planning for invitations, traditions and potentially tender holiday moments before the season becomes busy.
A Place of Remembering — choose an object, a journal page or a quiet place; nothing needs to be displayed.
Share a remembrance space or a support plan. Rehearse a simple boundary such as “I may need to leave early.”
What would help me feel supported during the holidays?
